Mission

The CNC Boston Area aims to increase biodiversity knowledge by building a diverse community that can work together, contributing to and accessing information from open biodiversity platforms to advance research, education, and civic engagement.

Our Objectives

Engage diverse communities in exploring and documenting the biodiversity of the Boston Area.
Build participants' expertise by developing their observation, identification, and biodiversity knowledge skills.
Create opportunities for everyone to contribute, collaborate, and investigate research questions through open science practices.
Advance scientific knowledge of the Boston Area's wild biodiversity and habitats, including terrestrial, freshwater, coastal, and marine environments, by contributing research-grade observations to iNaturalist during the City Nature Challenge.
